I believe that there can be tremendous value in cheap products.  This proved to be true when I bought myself a cheap hearing aid.  I was a little worried that it would not perform as well as the name brand, expensive models.  However, it really did.  It worked really well and I used it every day of my life for over two years before it started going bad.  When it stopped working, I went out and bought the exact same one.  I have had that one for over a year now and it is still working as well as the original one did.
