Social Stigma of Genital Warts

Genital warts is a highly contagious sexually transmitted disease. It is also pretty common among men and women to have this disease. Genital warts are caused by the human papillomavirus, most commonly referred to as HPV. People infected with this virus may or may not show the physical evidence of the disease which are warts. These warts vary is size and shape. Some can’t be seen while others can grow pretty big and look quite unsightly. There is a social stigma that goes with this illness and affects relationships, physical intimacy with partners and even one’s self esteem. There are ways to treat and get rid of genital warts with surgery and topical creams.
