We Came in Late

I had never really traveled on my own before I took a trip with my sister in law to a sewing conference. I was the primary driver, so I was nervous about getting it all right without my husband to rely on. I did fine, though. Coming home was a challenge, as we flew in quite late. It was nice having the bus there to take us to Bristol airport car parking. That was a relief. I’ve probably never driven so drowsy as I was coming home that night. Luckily, we made it, but next time, I’ll book an earlier arrival time, for sure.

Fire starting made simple

Fire starting doesn’t refer to people who can make fires with their minds. It refers to doing it the old fashioned way – the way the Boy Scouts of America do it – with sticks and friction. Yes, the people on TV make it look super easy. You’d be surprised to learn however that it is actually incredibly difficult to do. It takes an awful lot of effort and you could literally be rubbing for hours before you see any kind of a spark. In fact, I still remember when I read the book Hatchet that the hero of the book couldn’t start a fire with wood no matter how hard he tried. But he did finally manage to do so by using a piece of flint. Of course the easiest solution of all is to set out on your hike with plenty of matches. . .

Hotels in Tenerife to the winter rescue

Sunshine. I need it. I need it now. Normally I can deal with the grey skies and wet weather the winter months bring to Blighty. But for some reason this year, I’m feeling extraordinarily depressed. Every morning I moaningly switch the alarm off and look outside my bedroom window to a dark depressing grey sky. We’re not even half way through winter yet and I really don’t know how I’m going to make it! I’m thinking my lack of holiday this year needs to be rectified with some sunshine asap. I’ve been having a look online and found some cheap hotels in Tenerife that may be the escape I’m looking for. To be honest, I don’t really care where I end up as long as there is a beach chair with my name on it.

Best bet

If you are looking for luxury accomodation lake taupo I found the best way to find it was to search online. I am heading there with my partner soon for a weekend of rest and relaxation and we are very keen to stay in a luxurious place. I found a brilliant place which looks like it is absolute high class. I’m sure it will be extremely relaxing as our suite has its own private balcony that looks out over the lake to the mountains. According to the site the sunset is absolutely amazing so we are very much looking forward to sitting on the balcony with a nice red and watching the sun go down.

Caravan parks in Scotland – holidaying at home

With the rise of the ‘stay-cation’ this year, many caravan parks across Scotland have seen a real growth in popularity.

Indeed, I have been holidaying in caravan parks in Scotland for many years, even before the recession hit. And I doubt I will stop when the economy recovers and I have a bit of extra cash in my pocket.

That is because caravan parks offer a huge range of amenities, including football pitches, putting greens and – if you want a less active holiday – spas where you can enjoy relaxing beauty treatments.

Whatever type of holiday you want, a caravan park in Scotland provides the ideal location.

Why Stay in a Hotel in Singapore?

Many world travelers are interested in the unique cultures of the countries they visit, the sights, the smells, the sounds. Why would you stay in a hotel that offers very little of what the country has to offer in the way of cultural experience and cuisine? The answer is found in the fact that “roughing it” for the sake of the experience is not up everyone’s ally, and many prefer the comforts of a nice hotel to balance out some of the discomforts of being in a place that is unknown and foreign. The hotels in singapore provide a wonderful example of why a stay at a hotel is just the thing to give you the world experience you are looking for.

Every year I vacation with Papamoa Holiday Homes

I have went on vacation every year with Papamoa Holiday Homes last year. I decided to take a trip over to New Zealand and never come back to the states. I just get tired of leaving such a beautiful place every year. I would save my money to vacation here every year. Now I wake up to the best beach views and shopping locations I have dreamed of this place often hoping to retire and move to a nice sunshine place. But, just like every other American I just assumed it would be the state of Florida I would live in over the years all my friends moved off one by one.

Should You Take a Writing Course?

The age-old question is if you should take a travel writing course in order to become a travel writer. Most experienced writers have strong opinions about the subject varying from classes being expensive to invaluable. Notable travel writer Rick Steves claims he never took a travel writing class, but instead read only one book: On Writing Well by William Zinsser. And when he wanted to improve his style and voice, he re-read Zinsser. However, others will tell you the best way to become a travel writer is to take a class. MatadorU holds a popular travel writing course that has received glowing recommendation. This course helps to train aspiring travel writers by offering guidance from seasoned Matador travel writers. The course also puts you in contact with publications to review your work, giving you an advantage when first becoming a travel writer.

Luxury Vacation Homes are Conveniently Located

When I was researching luxury vacation homes for my next vacation one amenity that I was hoping they would have was a pool.  This is because I enjoy just relaxing and going for a swim when I am traveling.  Another thing that I was hoping that the lodging I ended up booking would have was that it would be close to all of the attractions that I wanted to visit, but far enough away that I would not have to deal with the traffic and noise.  Fortunately there were several options available for me when searching for a rental and I was easily able to find exactly what I was looking for.
