Opinion On “U.S. Families Slice Debt to Lowest In 6 Years”
Love these stories. They really cheer me up. So, time for a reality check? What are the rest of us MBA, 20yr+ corp. experience, former executive types in their 40s doing to claw by? No raises for this guy since 2005, and at $50K flat salary it still takes $113 today just to buy what $100 bought at that time. (BLS calculator which means the inflation rate is actually much higher, but I’ll go with it.)
The $13 per $100 more is now on a credit card – since there are no raises. See how the real net worth cycle works for this household?
Don’t bother with cost-cutting love advice, I do not have TV/cell or any extras, I can’t afford the bus or subway and never go out other than to/from work in the city on foot. But, hey, at least I’m giving you all a laugh today too! Hang on for dear life mates — or you could end up a loser like me in our great new economy!
